The last story also illustrates how the orphan mindset can be expressed through rebellion (the prodigal son) but also through religion (the elder brother). God wants to free us by experiencing His love, from orphan thinking and orphan living.

To fully appreciate what Jesus did for us, we must understand what was lost in the fall. Jesus, the last Adam came to restore what the first Adam lost. Jesus came to restore us back into sonship. It's in experiencing Father's love that we are fully restored.
